Performance analysis of chicken manure coated slow-release urea fertilizer (CM-CSRUF)

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract. Slow-release fertilizers (SRFs) are developed, to halt the nutrient loss environment, either by coating urea or infusing in a hydrophobic material. SRFs reduces release that point where single application of fertilizer can meet demand plants. Diverse range materials have already been utilized produce SRFs, however several disadvantages such hydrophilicity, non-biodegradability and crystallinity limit their scale up. Herein, we reported production using chicken manure with paraffin wax as binder. Nitrogen test coated revealed only 11.8% total nutrients were released first 12 h whereas uncoated ≥99.9 % nutrients. Ritger-Peppas model was found best fit kinetic data an R2 value 0.97.

Recycling of manure nutrients: use of algal biomass from dairy manure treatment as a slow release fertilizer.

An alternative to land spreading of manure is to grow crops of algae on the N and P present in the manure and convert manure N and P into algal biomass. The objective of this study was to evaluate the fertilizer value of dried algal biomass that had been grown using anaerobically digested dairy manure. Results from a flask study using two soils amended with algal biomass showed that 3% of total...

A green slow-release fertilizer composition based on urea-modified hydroxyapatite nanoparticles encapsulated wood

In this paper we describe a strategy for sustained release of nitrogen into the soil. Specifically, ureamodified hydroxyapatite nanoparticles were encapsulated under pressure into cavities of the soft wood of Gliricidia sepium. Nitrogen release of the nanofertilizer composition was studied using soil from three elevations in Sri Lanka (pH 4.2, 5.2 and 7) and compared with that of a commercial f...

Growing Potatoes with Slow-release Nitrogen Fertilizer

Nitrogen management practices have an effect on crop yields but they can also have a negative impact on the environment. Practices such as banding fertilizer and/or split-applying total nitrogen needs per acre offer a more efficient use of nitrogen by significantly reducing nitrate leaching potential. Heavy rains occurring when plants are small and nitrogen demands are low can also increase nit...

Influence of polymer-coated slow-release urea on total tract apparent digestibility, ruminal fermentation and performance of Nellore steers

OBJECTIVE Two experiments were performed to evaluate the effects of coated slow-release urea on nutrient digestion, ruminal fermentation, nitrogen utilization, blood glucose and urea concentration (Exp 1), and average daily gain (ADG; Exp 2) of steers. METHODS Exp 1: Eight ruminally fistulated steers [503±28.5 kg body weight (BW)] were distributed into a d 4×4 Latin square design and assigned...

Characterization and Utilization of Zeolite for NPK Slow Release Fertilizer (RESEARCH NOTE)

Based on various characteristics of zeolite, its utilization in the manufacture of fertilizers with slow-release properties is possible. The objectives of this study are to characterize and utilized nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK) slow release fertilizer by using natural zeolite in Indonesia. In this research, zeolite was utilized as a mixture of Slow Release Fertilizer (SRF). Effect o...
